Cindy Chang

Design Engineer

I've been making websites since I was 15, back in the days of Geocities and Angelfire. Although I was not working for startups or SASS companies then, I did have one of the first Spice Girls fan sites. The love of building and crafting experiences has never left.

I started as a graphic and web designer, grew into UX and frontend, and eventually found my place at the intersection of design and code. That’s where I do my best work.

Today, I’m a design engineer focused on creating thoughtful, well-crafted user experiences. I currently work at Elastic as a Senior Design Technologist.

Over the years I’ve worked at companies large and small, led teams, and developed a keen eye for QA and product polish. I’m drawn to modern, thoughtful design, whether it’s a well-made everyday object or the architecture of a great museum.

These days I’m based in the Netherlands with my partner and our dog Tuna. Before that, I lived in San Francisco, New York, Montreal, New Orleans and Cambodia. Experiences that continue to shape how I think about people, culture, and design.
